New Year's Resolutions Update

Oh Hi!

Since we're now done with 1/4 of the year (WOOOOW) I thought it would be good to give you guys an update on how I'm getting on with my new year's resolutions, so let's get started!

If you're a new reader and you don't know my new year's resolutions you can read about them here: http://itsmaddiehbu.blogspot.fi/2014/01/welcome-to-new-year-2014.html

My first New Year's resolution was to keep up with this blog and I think I'm doing well on that part so far!
I do still have troubles finding inspiration for Beauty Wednesdays but at least I have the M&C Collabs going up every month!
How do you guys think I'm doing so far on this resolution? Good? Bad? Let me know!

My second resolution was to workout and surprisingly I've done better on this part than I thought I would! I do have days when I can't be bothered to eat all healthy (Mostly saturdays and sundays because they start with s and s is for sin) but now I workout 3-5 times a week depending on how my body is feeling! And I've lost 2 kg and now I'm at that weight I aimed for so yes, I DID IT.
And I have a 2-pack (no not the singer) and I want it to be a 6-pack and I'll be as happy as a dog who gets to run free.

My last resolution was to focus on the important things (like school) and shit I am failing at that one. I still can't be bothered to do my homework at home, nope I do them last minute in school. I do of course listen in class and discuss with the teachers so I'm not failing at school but the homework part is just not going well... Oh well, I can overlook that as we don't really have lots of things to do in school anymore because our final exams are coming up soon and they are those kinda exams you can't study for so let's hope I manage to pass them all!

How are you guys doing with your New Year's resolutions? (:

Make Way March - M&C Collabs

Oh Hi!

It's actually that time of the month again when Cara and I do our monthly collab and we're hoping that this month Cara's blog will cooperate so the posts are up on the same time!

This month it's all about making way for those things that haven't got enough recognition. Whether it's a brand, a person or even a pencil (no, we're actually not gonna write about a pencil) they all deserve recognition for being great and that is what we're gonna do this month.
We both have chosen 3 things that we think needs more recognition and now we're gonna talk about them! And as always, remember to check out Cara's post after this!

Let's start!

The first thing I'm talking about is a skin care product which I recently brought into my life. It's the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
I haven't read any reviews on this, neither have I ever seen ANYONE make a video about it or even mentioning it in a haul, and I think that is SAD. Because if my mom hadn't just randomly bought this for me once (and I found it in a drawer) I wouldn't know about this flawless product that does more than I expected it to.

You can apply it directly to your skin on blemishes and upcoming pimples and they just DISAPPEAR. After one application they're already fading and applying it once more or twice after that they're barely visable anymore and I think that screams "MIRACLE PRODUCT".
At $9,50 (£7 and 8,70€) it's actually fairly cheap (according to me) considering it's never animal tested and it's an organic product. And a drop of it can honestly go on half your face.

This next thing I'm talking about is a brand called Yves Rocher. It's a french brand (but ships internationally) and they use only organic ingredients and never do they test on animals.
My favorite thing with Yves Rocher is that their products do what they say. If it says it's a matte lipstick, it is matte. If it says the mascara gives you tons of volume, it gives you tons of volume.
Also, with every order you get samples and free stuff and since my mom is a member she also gets birthday gifts and other cool discounts.
In all honesty, this brand makes high-quality products for an affordable price and you never feel like you're overpaying!

If there's one thing I'd say you'd have to try out it's the Pure System collection. I had samples of the three minute facial mask and it did my face wonders and now I use the Stop Blemish Lotion which helps with pores and other discusting things!

I also got a whole box of Yves Rocher body wash for Christmas that I am yet to try but they all smell AMAZING and I feel like eating them (which probably isn't good for you).

This last thing is a site which I found some months ago called Blogionaire. What this site does is it promotes bloggers. And I find that great. All you have to do is enter your blog in the bar you see and then you can be Blogionaire's "Blogionaire" for a day. They also have the blue heart that you can put on your blog (I have that one so you can click on it if you want to but you don't have to since it's all up to you YAY) and then your readers can love you and help you become the next day's Blogionaire.

They also do shoutouts on twitter!

I love people who do promoting for free because it's hard to get your blog out there and even though it's not all about readers, you do feel like you want comments and you want followers and it's really hard to get your blog noticed if you can't pay for ads etc. So sites like this is a great thing!

And look, here's a personal message from her!

Bikini Body?

Oh Hi!

On today's Beauty Wednesday I thought I would adress what magazines refer to as the "bikini body" because it pops up all the time the months before bathing season.
And if you're now thinking "God please no, not another person who will tell me how to achieve the bikini body" then don't worry. I will not show you work outs that'll give you that flat stomach or foods that will help you lose fat. I'm not here for that.

I wanted to talk about the "Bikini body" because I find it RIDICULOUS. It seems like we ladies should start working out like crazy and become health freaks months before we're gonna get into our bikini just so we can please the eyes of others. No, I wasn't born for that shit.

Though I am working out and eating healthier (since the new year I should point out) I might sound like a hypocrite, but I'm not. I'm not working out and eating healthier to get a bikini body, I'm working out and eating healthier to FEEL healthier. And that's why you should work out and eat good. Not to please others, not to get that famous "bikini body" that everyone talks about.

What even is a "bikini body"?

Is it this?

Or this?

Or maybe this?

You guys have now of course picked which one you think is the ideal "bikini body" and I'm gonna disappoint you all. All of the pictures I showed are bikini bodies. You don't have a bikini body only if you're skinny, you don't have a bikini body only if you have a big ass. No you have a body and a bikini, put the bikini on and that is YOUR OWN bikini body.

I'm not against working out and eating healthy, but I don't like the idea of having to stress to get a bikini body for 2-3 months and then start eating unhealthy again until it's that panic time again to get in shape.

In my opinion the greatest body is a healthy body, whether that means you're curvy or skinny, it doesn't matter. As long as your healthy and happy, you shouldn't be worried. People are always gonna hate, you might as well just give them another reason to be jealous and hate (by being happy and healthy) and show of that body of yours.

And guys, don't try to get a body you simply can't have. Know that some people can't get a flat stomach, know that some people can't get that hour-glass shape, know that some people can't get that Kim Kardasian booty. And that is alright.

My Favorite Quotes & Why

Oh Hi!

I'm sorry for not posting anything yesterday, I simply didn't have time. So today is the day instead!

Today I thought I would share with you guys some of my favorite quotes and why, so let's get started, shall we?

This quote is one of my favorites because first of all I love butterflies, they are so beautiful and they can't see how beautiful they are. Second, I like it because it gives me hope, In a weird way. I once actually did this and it kind of gave me strength to fight for what I want. It's weird.

(no source)

You'll soon see a pattern with these quotes, they're all about dreaming and believing in yourself. Those are my favorite ones.
I love this one especially much because I'm really impressed with the universe and everything in it, and then this quote just MAKES SENSE.

"We're all just skeletons underneath"
This quote is one of my favorites because Zoe said it in a video she did with Grace. It kind of just reminds me that no matter how I wanna judge someone, they're the same as me underneath and we should all just stand together.

 (Source doesn't exist anymore)

I don't actually know where Miley said it but the minute I saw it it became my absolute favorite quote. It's really true that you do learn from your mistakes and it's all part of life. I find that beautiful.

(Picture belongs to me)

Disney is the greatest and always seem to teach us the same thing, you can be what you wanna be.

That's it for today! But always let me know what your favorite quotes are!

Skin Care routine - Clinique 3-step System

Oh Hai!

Today I thought I would discuss a product (actually products) that has done great things to me regarding my skin (acne and hyper-pigmentation); The Clinique 3-step skin care system.

*Disclaimer! The products mentioned are bought with my own money and all opinions are 100%*

I got this when I was 13 but I only used it on occasion when I wanted a pick me up. Some months ago I thought I would start using it morning and night and my skin is sooo much healthier and better looking!

I used to use number 3 for Combination/oily skin but I ran out of the clarifying lotion (toner) so I went to get a new one and I took number 4 because it has the same exact facial soup and moisturizer, it's just the clarifying lotion that is a little bit different.
In my opinion they do the same thing except the number 4 clarifying lotion is a little bit better but it's still basically the same.

The best with this product is that it's worth the 40€ it costs and you get every single last drop of use out of it. And you see great improvement just after some weeks of using it! I've had a lot of people telling me my skin is a lot better now too so that tells you something!

The Clinique site says "With consistent twice-a-day use, you'll see skin that's clear, radiant, glowing." and I completely agree!

The products leaves your face feeling sooo soft that you just feel like going around stroking your face against other people's faces so they can feel how soft your face is. The products are also 100% fragrance free and since I recently found out that I can't use anything with fragrance in it on my face this is a good thing for me!

Sorry for the awkward form of the picture ooops. But this was me in December, when I didn't use the 3-step system.

And this is me now.

Though I will never get rid of my red cheeks since it's something I just have the products have still done wonders and that monster pimple that came to me some days ago says hi to you.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and if anyone was on a look for a good easy skin care routine, I recommend this! Though be sure to get the right number because we all have different skin types! So I'd recommend that you go to a cosmetics store and have them look at your skin. And if you can't then there are lots of sites online that you can use to get to know what skin type you have (Clinique has a good one!)

A Guide for Guys - How To Understand Ladies

Oh Hi!

Since I am a lady (Last time I checked at least) and I know that we ladies are quite difficult sometimes (or all the time) I thought I would let the guys of the world in on some things that goes through ladies' heads and explain what this all means. This will not help you understand the whole female population but maybe give you an idea as to how to go about certain things including females. Soooo let's get started.

First of all, ladies overthink A LOT. We analyze everything you say and a problem that wasn't even there in the beginning becomes one of the lifechanging things in our head. So when you speak with us, be clear as to what you mean. No half-hearted replies like "hmm maybe" or "I don't know" because those will turn into bigger things in our head and we might suddenly think you're a serial killer. So if I ask you "Do you want pizza?" you say either "Yes" or "No" because it's gonna confuse me otherwise.

Second, do NOT lie to us. We will figure out eventually and then you're gonna be in a hell of a lot of trouble. Honesty is underrated these days and we all know nobody trusts anyone so just, be honest. If you accidentally killed someone, tell us. We're most likely to figure out one hell of a plan to get you out of jail if we love you enough. So just, please be honest with us.

Third, if we say that we're fine you should know it's time to drag us to bed and cuddle with us. When we say that we're fine though we're not we most likely just need you to show us that you care (unless you've cheated, then know hell is about to be a place on Earth and you should run while you can). If we're extra grumpy just cuddle with us and make us feel loved, we're most likely to feel better after that.

Fourth, just because we're pissed doesn't mean we're on our period. I HATE when people pull that card like "are you on your period?" NO. Can I not be angry and annoyed like any other human without HAVING to be on my period? So whatever you do, if we're angry, do NOT ask us if it's "that time of the month" because it will most likely just piss us off even more.

Fifth, DO NOT TREAT US LIKE OBJECTS. Jesus did not die so boys could jack off to pictures of half-naked girls. HONESTLY. Where's that respect someone once talked about? Can't see it anywhere actually.
Just, please respect us and actually, respect everyone around you, not just us. And NO is NO, not "I'm trying to play hard to get" or anything like that. No means NO.

Sixth, forgive us for going to the bathroom together. It's just something we do. Either we do it to talk about you or then it's because we just can't be without each other and we're secretly lesbians. (I'm joking, don't freak out).

Seventh, don't make fun of our idols. We WILL punch you, eventually. Our idols are probably the ones who saved us and even though you might think Justin Bieber is gay he's still saved millions of lives and he's probably saved your girlfriend so just shut up yah? There's reason behind why we have the idols we have. They might've been there when you weren't, so f u c k off if you're gonna talk shit about our idols.

And lastly (for today), don't mention our weight. We spend years trying to be comfortable in our own bodies and someone even mentioning our bodies might get us to be insecure again, so keep that in mind. Whatever you do, do NOT mention our weight. Do not call us skinny or fat (at least not me, I don't wanna be something like that in your head) and only mention our bodies if it's something positive like "you have nice legs" etc.

I hope this has been interesting reading and for all you girls, let me know if you agree on these parts and also tell me what else you think boys should think about when talking to us?

Just a Little Ramble

Oh Hi!

I've had this up for hours trying to figure out what to write about and now it's 12:05am and I still don't know what to write about.

I did have something planned but sadly I didn't feel like writing about that so then I was all out of ideas. I'm now just gonna ramble and see if this posts ends up being something hah.

It's March now, crazy huh? Time goes fast, it really does. I'd love to say that this year has been good so far but I don't know, it has just kinda been there and it's been weird.

I've had Winter break this week and I've done absolutely nothing and it's been great! Though I've been to Sweden for a day and shopped there but other than that I've just been at home sleeping until the pm hours, ooops. I'm gonna be more than tired next week when school starts again.

Follow my instagram @itsmaddiehbu

Oh last semester starts on monday, I can't believe my 9th year is soon over!! Applying for schools next week (probably) and that's scary, I admit. Like what if I fuck up? But life is a total mess and it's ok to fuck up, everyone does that.

Also, my little lifesaver turns 20 today and I think that's really weird. Though I no longer listen to him there will always be a special place for him in my heart. Happy Birthday Justin<3

What else?...
I've been on tumblr a lot recently so maybe that's something you should check out (; inspirationsforlife I also hit 13 000 followers on there yesterday!!! W O W

I think I should sleep now because I'm getting really tired. Goodnight everyone<3
