The Fault In Our Stars - My thoughts

Oh Hi!

First off I want to say that if this post looks a little odd compared to my other posts that's because I'm writing this on my phone as I am currently away at my grandparents' place with no laptop and I didn't know what to blog about until yesterday. (This post has since been edited and looks now completely fine)

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS SO IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE WHO STILL HASN'T READ THE BOOK DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

So if you read (or watched) my list of 25 Things To Do This Summer I mentioned that I want to read 'The Fault In Our stars' and the day before going to visit my grandparents I went and bought the book and I read through it in about 5-7 hours. I was hooked. But I gotta say that it wasn't what I had expected. I knew he was going to die but I didn't know how he granted her wish for her and all that stuff. I gotta say though I really enjoyed reading the book I was extremely annoyed at the people who have read the book and made such a big thing about "Maybe 'okay' will be our 'always'" and those things because I honestly felt that they didn't care about the other things (like how he granted his wish for her) and the "okay" part is, in my opinion, overrated and I feel like people forgot about what Hazel did for Augustus or what Hazel's mom did for her or how Hazel liked Augustus the most when he was just himself, and not trying to be romantic or something like that. I also hate how nobody seemed to remember Isaac and what he had to go through and no one mentions the line "Although it was his dream and not mine, I indulged it. He'd indulged mine, after all" because I think that one truly shows her love for him. Also, how come no one mentioned Hazel's thoughts right before kissing Augustus at the Anne Frank Museum and the fact that people applauded them? I'm truly disappointed in how people have seem to see this book. I personally liked it because of the little things, and what the families did for each other and what they did for their families and for each other. Not for all the romantic things, but for how they could just show each other love and understanding through the actions they did and the decisions they made. I don't know, maybe I've misunderstood everyone and it turns out that I'm not the only one who cares about these things and not the "okay" part.
Also, I don't understand why he had to die? Like couldn't he just live with cancer, just like Hazel? But then again, this is not your normal romantic book with a happy ending though it did end in a fairly good way considering Augustus had died.

All in all I loved the book in a way that I haven't loved a book that I've read in a long time and now I want to unread it just so I can experience it again. But I don't think I'll be going to watch the movie as I do fear that it won't be as good as the book. But let me know if I'm wrong and I'll consider watching it!

Have you read 'The Fault In Our Stars'? If so, what did you think of it? And are you going to go watch the movie? Or if you've seen it already, what did you think?

One Year Anniversary!

Oh Hi!

Guess what? TODAY It's a year since I started my blog!
I remember making my blog and how I excited I was to write my first blogpost (which, let me add, is a pretty awkward one). I had had blogs before but I wanted to start fresh and just get to do whatever with no haters whatsoever.

When I started my blog I knew I wanted to write about whatever comes to my mind and have this blog as my personal little place for my random things and beautyposts. It wasn't until December though as I introduced you guys to "Beauty Wednesday". Here's the post on that.

My most read post EVER is my Zoella-Inspired Messy Bun which I did on Emma In November. I have no idea why that's the one that got the most attention but it did. With over 520 reads and counting (it get at least 5 reads a week) it somehow just impressed people haha. It was an easier version of the bun she did but it still looked good, which made Emma happy as she had to sit through like An HOUR while I curled her hair and then did the up-do.

No post I've written has gotten close to how many reads the Zoella-Inspired one has and I get it. It's always cool to see how celebrities and beauty-gurus gets their hair/makeup looking great!

In January I started something called M&C Collabs with the lovely Cara. If you're unfamiliar to this I can tell you that it's monthly blog-collaborations and we talk about different beauty/fashion/life related stuff. So far we've had so much fun collaborating and I'm looking forward to the other half of the year!

My bestie Julia made an appearance in October when she guestblogged on a saturday. And I can now say that I'm soon seeing her for the second time as I'm going to visit her in July AND I'M SO EXCITED!!

I've posted my few shares of crazy minds and creative writing and fortunately for you you can read them all in the tag I made called "Creative writing". I love writing what's honestly on my mind and it's cool to look back at some of my posts and see that I am truly, somewhat at least, smart and to see that yes, I can actually write about things that matter even though I'm somewhat a hyper non-serious girl. But the serious stuff is important, because they make us who we are.

My biggest dream is to inspire people and encourage them to believe in themselves and stand up for themselves and I hope that I can do that with this blog. If not yet, then someday.

One of my favorite posts is my Bikini Body post as it really meant something to me, and maybe it meant something to you too. I felt that I wanted to adress the fact that every body is a bikini body and I'm happy I did it.

In January, when it had been 2 years since my lovely grandpa passed away, I paid tribute to him by writing a post about him. Reading it still makes me emotional and I can't wait to one day see him again.

My second most read post is my post on how british youtubers should get blessed. Louise and Joe had liked my instagram pictures and I was dancing around and decided to write a post about it. I should now add that Alfie damn Deyes has since followed me on twitter (that all happened 27th May) and it's forever in my heart. God bless youtubers.

This post is now getting rather long so I better finish it off.

I want to thank everyone who has ever opened my blog, I want to thank everyone who has ever left a comment on my blog. And I want to thank everyone who has ever read my blog. This is my personal little space with weird posts and some humor and other great things but it makes me happy to know that even 20 people like my blog, and to think that 6,000 people have visited my blog even once makes me jump up and down. Though I'm in no way famous or even close to being famous I enjoy writing and I'm looking forward to the following years writing this blog. I will continue to write whether I'm the only one who cares or 20-1,000 000 people read it. And I hope that I can one day inspire people the way Zoe (Zoella) inspired me to start this blog.

So a final thank you to Zoe Elizabeth Sugg for inspiring me and giving me the courage to start this blog. I love youuuuuu♥

Writer's Block

Oh Hi!

I've been staring at this blank non-filled post for over an hour trying to figure out what to write about and nothing has come to my mind. Absolutely nothing.

So I'm now gonna make you a playlist of some my favorite youtube videos and then have you watch it all like the computer person I know you all are.

There's the playlist with the most hilarious videos I've recently been obsessed with watching everyday so maybe you'll like them too (:

If you guys want me to write about Miley's concert and maybe even upload some videos from the concert then please let me know and I'll do that!

Makeup Mayves - M&C Collabs

Oh Hi!

It's again time for the monthly collab and because of personal things for me and Cara the May post has been a little delayed, but it's finally here!

May is all about makeup and our top 5 FAVORITE makeup items of all time. So let's just get into it, shall we? And don't forget to check Cara's blogpost too!

The first thing I'm going to talk about is the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil. Eyebrows frame the face so it's always important to have your eyebrows filled in or else your face might look a little off and this pencil works for me. I have it in the shade 004 Black Brown and I find that it's the perfect color for me. Applied with an angled brush gives the best result but if you're lazy (like me) it does what it's supposed to do even if you just do it straight with the pencil. The brush that it comes with also comes in handy as it removes product overload and makes it all look so much more natural!

This next thing is powder. Everyone has heard of this and I gave into the hype. It's the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder. I have it in the shade 004 Sandstorm but I think it's a little too dark for me and would like to get the transparent one. Anyway, for someone like me who has such an oily T-zone this is a miracle. It really does keep my face matte. It works best if I press it into the skin and not just brush it on. I don't know what else to say but if you have oily skin this is for you!

Next is Mascara, and now I'm cheating and talking about 2 mascaras, mostly because I often use these two together. They're the Maybelline The Colossal Volum' express Waterproof and Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Ultra-volume mascara. These two mascaras both promise a lot of things on the back of them (at least the maybelline one) and I agree with everything. They give the big volume they swear to do. Also, they make my eyelashes appear longer and that's just amazing. I do feel, however, that I should get the Maybelline one in non-waterproof as I feel that it wears of quite quickly sometimes. But they do their job and they are my babies.

Most girls collect lipsticks and lipglosses and most of us own waaaayyy too many. I'm not any different. So when Tanya Burr came out with her own Nail polishes and Lipglosses line I HAD to buy at least ONE lipgloss. After a lot of thinking I decided to get her lipgloss called "Picnic In The Park" and I LOVE it. It stays on forever and it's such a pretty shade and if I would marry it I would. I don't use it that often though as I never want it to run out and the struggle here is real.

The last thing is a makeup brush that I use everytime I apply foundation. It's the BH Cosmetics Duo Fiber Stippling brush. It's the SOFTEST THING ON EARTH and applying foundation with it is heaven. It honestly feels like somebody's gently stroking your face when nope, it's a brush. I've applied foundation with my fingers before but not anymore, not now that I have this brush. It's really easy to use and since it's so soft you don't feel like it's dragging on your skin either and that's good since some brushes can be really harsh on your face. If you want a good foundation brush, this is it.

We have now come to the end where, as usual, there's a message from Cara:
hello my dears! it would mean so so much to me if you came and said hello over at my blog. leave my Maddie lots of love in the comments bc I made her cry ahah, big love always x

Thank you guys for reading and let me know what your top 5 makeup items are! And remember to check out Cara's blogpost to see her top 5 makeup items!
